This battery DOESN’T WORK AT ALL. DON’T BUY IT. I WENT THROUGH TWO BATTERIES AND THEY WERE BOTH DEFECTIVE.
I also spent over a month shipping defective batteries back and forth, making calls, and sending emails.
How It Doesn’t Work:
It doesn’t hold a charge / charge at all. The light on the power adapter goes from orange (charging) to green (not charging) randomly, staying mostly on green so you can never really charge your battery.
The battery itself has green LEDs like the OEM battery. These don’t work either, they’re just decoration. You hit the button and they all light up, even if the battery if completely dead. It must have its own battery to power the LEDs. And they don’t light up sequentially like the OEM, they just turn on when you hit the button. I don’t really care that these don’t work, but to put them there like that is way cheesy and confusing to people who don’t realize how it doesn’t really work.
Customer Service…Who Cares?
Accessory Genie has “great” customer service in that it was easy to get a hold of them, get an exchange, and (I’m hoping) get my refund now that I’ve been through two. Actually, my first one got lost in the mail, so technically I went through 3 batteries.
That said, I would NEVER buy from them again because “great” customer service doesn’t make my laptop work. If they sold products that actually worked, that might make me buy from them.
But since they don’t, I won’t…and you shouldn’t either.

I felt a little misled when I received this product, because this isn’t actually an Apple product that I purchased. It seems like it is until you receive it. I would have appreciated knowing that it wasn’t an actual Apple product, and then I could have made my decision. As it is the battery works fine even if it doesn’t quite look authentic. Cosmetic differences aside, it wasn’t a bad investment, I just want to know what I’m buying.

The battery didn’t work at all. They were nice on the phone and gave us a full refund so we shipped it back. Apparently if you don’t buy an Apple battery, it most likely will not work your Mac.

I am stationed over seas and I ordered a replacement battery for my 13″ Macbook, I waited almost a month to recieve it which was ok, but then to get a battery that would not keep its charge and get rejected by my laptop was unreal….I know it has a warranty and replacement options but its not even worth the trouble or the money spent…I’m only here for a few more weeks and will just take the loss and buy one from the apple store..

The battery really doesn’t work. My laptop could never read the battery, when the battery was connected to the power source the laptop suddenly shut off. I will give you an advice, buy the original equipment, these batteries don’t work.
I have to give a lot of credit to accessory Genie, the best customer service, I return the battery and my money was refunded with no questions, I will definitely buy again from them.
