I really expect a lot from monster. A pro grade audio company that is even overpriced within that world. So i chose to try this item and it is AWFUL for iphone. The audio quality through my cars stereo is worse than if i just played my music through the iphone’s speakers. AVOID!

This item is basically useless for its audio connect. I tried two different units, thinking the first one surely must have had a cable loose. I was using it with an iPhone 3GS and I have testing all the other pieces and they work perfectly. I liked the design and concept of the extra buttons, but the sound coming through the included AUX connection was mono with heavy static and extremely tinny sound. I gave up trying after the second unit.

I too had read the other reviews and didn’t think it could really be all that bad. I was wrong! The sound was terrible! I tried many things, even uncoiling the cord from the unit (didn’t help much). The bottom line is that we shouldn’t have to worry about altering the unit or having to adjust our ipods (iphones). A company like Monster will lose more money in the long run from the bad impression than they will ever make on a poor product. They should pull the units or issue a recall. One of the reasons I caved and bought this is because of the paucity of similar items. I had a similar Kensington unit that turned faulty.
I decided to review this to let others know that Gigaware has a wonderful “aux in” unit that has a noise filter on the aux jack and the sound is clear and crisp. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Needed something to connect the iPod to the new Tahoe. I was looking for something to keep the iPod battery charged as well as connect to the AUX port on the GM factory radio. This fit the bill perfectly. No complaints.

I have a 2008 Honda Fit, and this product works great. My car’s aux. input is just below the a/c adapter. I needed a way to control the tracks that are playing and anything more. Even though I can’t see the control buttons, it’s very easy to use them by feel. The sound is a bit “boosted”, but it’s nothing that you can’t correct via iPod EQ or your car stereo EQ.
