Wireless BlueTrack Notebook Mouse with Nano Receiver – PC USB… More >>

This is a very well designed mouse, but the USB transceiver ruins the product. I cannot say good enough things about the design and usefulness of the mouse itself, but the usb transceiver melted after only a few hours of use due to bad design (CMOS latchup) and burned my wife’s fingers as she tried to take it out of the USB port. No damage to my laptop occurred, but this product should be on a recall list. Microsoft support was very helpful in sending a replacement, which also failed within a few hours in the same manner. They were NOT helpful in sending a different model as a replacement. Stay away from this product unless you want to be burned. No really, actually burned!

It’s a shame that there is a design flaw in this mouse, because it otherwise would have been the bee’s knees. As many others have experienced, the USB receiver overheats and melts. The same happened to mine, which is a shame because the mouse itself feels great in my hand, and the Bluetrack technology is a nice improvement over standard optical mice. On a positive note, Microsoft’s customer service was top notch. I called their toll free number and waited all of 1 minute to get through to a representative who offered to ship a replacement to me free of charge. One advice I’ve heard is to attach the USB receiver to a USB extension cord, rather than directly into the computer. This will prevent overheating. Fine for my desktop at home, but cumbersome if I’m going to use the mouse on my portable laptop (which was my main purpose for buying it).

Don’t be fooled by the new blue tracking technology. I have had this mouse for almost 3 weeks and have found it to be awful. Though I do like the design, buttons and the small receiver, the mouse itself is very jumpy when being used. It is also slow to respond sometimes. I will be inquiring about some type of replacement as I am hoping that I just received a defective one. I am using this on a mac, by the way. However, the box said that this is a perfectly acceptable platform for the mouse. Other than the mouse being a poor performer, the battery life seems to be great!
I’d try to find something else though

Spectacular mouse, ’cause is able to read any surface and the distance that it have it is something to consider … I was looking for something like this since long time ago.

Do not buy this mouse unless you like to waste time and money. Simply put, this mouse does not work. I have two of these, soon to be put in the garbage when I replace them. One on a Gateway laptop running Vista and the other on an Asus netbook running XP. Both have the same problems with erratic mouse pointer movements and clicking that doesn’t do anything. Tried different ports, fresh batteries, upgraded drivers, etc, nothing helps. MS support completely worthless.
THE WORSE MOUSE EVER!
