The replacement went smooth and the only thing I’m OCD about was the fact that it didn’t have a plastic protector over the sensitive part of the connection (where the compartments are). I took the one that came with the ipod and placed it over. Fast shipping was nice too!

i had a broken lcd screen on my 5th gen ipod and was hesitant to go cracking it open like a clam. there are plenty of online tutorials (video and otherwise) and, if youre reading this review and wondering if you should make the repair yourself, you definitely should. the part came quickly and replacing it was very easy, all it took was a swiss army knife and about 15 minutes. the only thing i would be skeptical of would be the product itself. ive had it in for about 2 weeks now and it still works, but i also ordered a replacement headphone jack for the same ipod, and their [erain] replacement part has already crapped out and is only working through one side. their ‘warranty’ is good for only a week, which is awful by any standards, but what can you do.

I just finished installing the screen and it work’s beautifully! I’m very happy with the screen and it arrived super fast. This is the best price I found for a screen also. The seller sends the two tools needed to open the iPod as well. This is not mentioned on this page. You also need a tiny screwdriver, and that’s ll you need to finish the job (it needs to be VERY tiny). I used a 1.4mm flat.. it didn’t fit completely (too large) but I managed with it.
