I was thinking this was a GOLDEN item because the reviews are all solid and glowing with greatness. This microphone simply did not work for me. By the looks of it, it appears that I have received a defective microphone – returning it will prove more expensive than just buying another, more respectable microphone. Another flaw is that the picture displayed for this item does not match the item that I received. Maybe I received the wrong microphone from the company.

I was not able to make this product work with the ipod touch (2nd generation), in particular with Skype, which was the main reason I wanted this product. The touch refused to recognize it as a microphone (and it was not a problem with the headphones, as I tried multiple pairs).
It did work fine with the iphone 3G, though I’ve only had it for a few days, so I cannot speak to how long it will last.

I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, just something to use with my ipod touch and nice headphones. It works, I get a clear enough sounds for voice memos and skype.

I was wanting something closer to the thumbtack style, but was hesitant due to the ratings I saw at the time. I recommend this if you don’t mind the wire.
