  • I don’t want to rate this too low, but I was unable to try it out because it gets no power from our 2006 Jetta’s 12v socket. Severely bummed since we now have an 11 hour drive with bad radio! I don’t know if this is a Griffin problem or the Jetta, but I also have the Griffin Roadtrip FM transmitter and charger which worked great for years (non-daily use) in our other make cars, until I plugged it into the Jetta! So, Griffin and Volkswagen, I ask you please, please work this problem out!

The FM transmitter does its job decently. When there is no intereference from other stations, the sound quality is more than decent.

The great thing about this is that we don’t have to worry about charging our iTouch anymore. We just leave it in our car, it turns on and off with the car. The iTouch ensures that it turns itself on and off with the transmitter.

All FM transmitters work with the inherent problem of having to deal with interference from other stations on the air. We have to occasionally change the station on the transmitter, but the auto-tune feature makes it an absolute breeze to change stations with the press of a single button. If you so wish ou can change stations manually too. The digital display clearly displays the station currently tuned. You then need to change the station on your radio receiver too. This is an inconvenience when this happens, but that is the price you (don’t) pay for an FM transmitter.

All in all, I have no problems recommending this product.

  • My wife current has this and it works great in Maryland (Annapolis). We have no problems with interference or static and the sound quality isn’t bad either.

This is the best FM transmitter I have owned, and I have owned a few. The International setting trick, to use frequency 87.9, works like a dream and the sound quality is near cd quality. If your radio can tune to that frequency you will never need to change the setting. The best part is, it charged my iPhone. That, coupled with the long cord, makes this indispensable for me. So glad my son bought this for me.
