It was cheap, but works perfectly and sounds excellent. Specifically I drive a Crown Vic from the early 90s. The Vic's tape player won't even recognize the adaptor as a tape. It simply goes in and nothing happens. Sound was great! so put it in upside down and the sound is louder and clearer. The sound quality is great stereo sound, although you need to get the right balance between volume on the iPod / computer and the boom box or you will hear static feedback. There is some background noise of the tape running, but when you play music, you can't hear the noise anymore. I'm very happy with this inexpensive, lightweight, simple solution. Tempted by the cheap price, I went with this over some other ones. Big mistake. The sound quality was noticeably worse, and it had intermittent issues with being abruptly ejected from my tape player and/or unexpectedly trying to auto-reverse and interrupting music for ~5 seconds while it figured out what it was doing.
