I drive a delivery truck and listen to a lot of podcasts and music in my truck. I used mine all day today and it works great. You may have to go in to your iPod/MP3 player’s EQ settings and hunt down the right one for this transmitter. It’s powerful enough to push past most stations, but some things I listened to sounded very quiet, even with the iPod and in dash stereo at full volume. I set my iPod’s EQ to “spoken word” and it got a lot louder. One drawback I found is that the unit has no station memory, it resets to 88.1 every time it loses power. However, even though we have a local station on 88.1, the transmitter pushed right through it, I couldn’t hear the station’s broadcast at all. So I set my radio to 88.1. That way, I don’t have to reset the frequency each time I turn off the truck. The flex-shaft is strong and stayed in the shape I bent it to, and the cig plug has a great little rubber ring that helps hold the thing in the outlet. I just made it a habit to push it in every so often and it didn’t fall out all day. Your mileage may vary, but for the price, it’s pretty awesome. Before I got this one, my friend loaned me his battery powered one that could only use 4 frequencies and cost over $40, and it was pretty much useless, this one beats it on every level, and at a fraction of the cost.

I didn’t have very high expectation for this transmitter based on the price. However, I had hoped for a product that would perform it’s basic functions well and not fall apart in a month. So far, I’m satisfied. The signal comes in clear and strong, and the quality is as good as any other fm transmitter I’ve heard. The headphone plug is a great feature, as you don’t have to charge your iPod when just going on a short trip, ultimately saving your battery. Also, the headphone cord can be replaced by a longer standard headphone jack, so you don’t have to keep your iPod in the holster as you choose a song. Otherwise, the device is large and clunky, and not that great at holding an iPod. I haven’t used the remote, but I also find it completely unnecessary, no points lost or gained.
Pros:
good sound quality.
iPod not restricted to craddle
doesn’t have to charge all the time
very cheap
cons:
cheap feel, could break at any moment
doesn’t hold an iPod well while charging,
fm stations don’t go below 88.1 (87s are picked up on most radios and are almost always clear)
overall: too cheap to not try. A great deal if you have luck with it.

I had the Belkin Ipod car charger and player for a few years and it finally fell apart on me. So, I found this and for only $13, I was shocked at how great this thing is! It’s way better than the Belkin one I had, which costed 3 times as much. It has a much clearer sound (almost as much clarity as playing a CD in my car). It charges it AND I can use it with my new Droid as a holder because it fits most mp3 players and phones. It is a bit on the heavy side, but I tilted the head back some and it balances just fine, so it doesn’t fall out. I noticed there’s a usb port, which I haven’t looked into what it does, yet. All in all, a great product and highly recommended!

This Transmitter is awesome! It does the job of playing my ipod in my stereo in the car. Great price. Many transmitters like this cost around $80.00. This was a great deal.

I was looking for a good but inexpensive product that would play my iPod in my car. I’ve tried a million of the little FM transmitters that plug into the earphone port on the player and I’ve always been disappointed with the quality of them. I really wanted to try and find something that would make almost a crystal clear sound transmitting through my car stereo. That might not ever happen, but this product comes closer to that goal than any other I’ve tried. I have a Toyota Corolla and at first I thought the placement of the cigarette lighter port would be a hassle with this model, but it’s not. The “neck” of the device allows it to be maneuvered into a position that doesn’t disrupt the shifter at all. I found that I like to keep my car volume on about medium and adjust the volume with the iPod to get less static on it. I’m very pleased with this item for the price that I paid and I’ve enjoyed listening to my iPod in my car now!
